ABOUT

The Cajon is a type of box drum, synonymous with street music, originating from Peru, it is played by hitting the front surface (usually a thin sheet of plywood) which has a snare trap behind, to create a unique range of percussive sounds.

The traditional drum is very simple, and lacks ergonomic function.

It was my aim to redesign and produce a bespoke Cajon prototype, by working on the styling of the Cajon, and by improving its ergonomics.

This product was a one off prototype. I am keen to get feedback on the product, and if you have any ideas about progressing this concept further, please don't hesitate to contact me!
